The New York Times Learning Network, a site that shows educators how to use the news in their classrooms, featured a guest post by Represent writer Anthony Turner, weighing in on the Trayvon Martin case. The story was also picked up by The New York Times’ Schoolbook blog and has received more than a hundred comments.Anthony also had a story reprinted by GothamSchools, an online news site focused on New York City pubic schools. The National Council on Crime and Delinquency named Represent a winner of the 2011 Prevention for Safer Society Award. Represent was recognized for its Summer 2011 issue, Instiutionalized, which featured stories by teen writers about how to make institutions more supportive, helpful places for youth so that they can heal and work toward a better future. 14th Annual Awards for Youth in Foster Care
